To be honest, I don't agree with this in the slightest. We ALL take our own interpretation from the written word garnered from a lifetime of past experiences and paradigms. What I find incorrect is demanding that people believe our interpretation of the scriptures or think that we have the only correct understanding of them.
SCRIPTURES ARE NOT INTERPRETATIONS, *****
and is all we have as a foundation of truth, to use as a standard to base everything on.
And what I find to be interesting - especially in this forum,
is that very few people actually use scripture to prove their point , like I do.
They actually think that their opinion, or their "interpretation" of a scripture,
is more important, than just reading what the scripture says itself.
And what I told TheDuke, and others
is - "SCRIPTURES ARE NOT INTERPRETATIONS - READ THEM !"
and many times - to him, and everyone else - in some of my posts -
I've have repeatedly said -
"DON'T read anything I say - just read the scriptures I've posted - they speak for themselves"
WHICH THEY DO !

simply because it neutralizes what the scripture is actually saying,
and they are left to your interpretation of it, instead of the power of the truth of what the scripture is saying -
as it comes from God.

Sounds like something satan would conjure up -
leaving God's word - up to your interpretation of it.
(Like reducing God's word, to the interpretation and precepts of men.)

YES ! - (or is that too hard to do - because we always have to change God - according to us)
So if you're going to interpret it, and say - " oh... well, but God really didn't mean
that we shouldn't kill our enemies."
or I'm sure - that just like some in this forum,
can come up with a hundred other "INTERPRETATIONS"
of something said so simple.

you can just write it off, what it's saying, and say that it means this or that.
It can be a way for some to slip out of the truth of what the scripture is saying,
or even justify their sins - as I've seen many times, and in this forum.

Interpreting scripture, and changing God's word to say - what YOU want,
instead of letting it say - what is says,
I don't think that's what God had intended.
and is a sin in itself.
Also, I'd be a little cautious throwing around this phrase: "..very few people actually use scripture to prove their point , like I do." It drips with an air of pride. There are some wonderful scriptorians here on the forum. You aren't in some elite class IMO. Just sayin'
