The largest concentration of mitochondria in our bodies is in the ovaries and sperm.

Mitochondria appear to be a bacteria that has a symbiotic relationship with us. They co-opted our bodies at one point. They are responsible for ATP, for our energy production. Without mitochondria or if our mitochondria is malfunctioning, we don't have the maximal energy production available to us. We have less power, less force, less energy.
