Why We Need Baptism

Post by juliet »

I have pondered on why we need baptism for many years. I like to have real answers about things. I like to be able to understand why. Recently this question came up again in my thoughts; and I dismissed it and assumed I will never really understand the concept of baptism.

Well the other day; as I was doing more healing work, all the sudden my mind was enlightened with a deep confirmation as to why we need baptism. Baptism is a very important principle in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The best way I can explain it, is that baptism is the process of spiritual adoption; whereby our DNA is made pure again and healed of any defilement. We know how important it is to our physical health to have pure and healthy DNA and we know that there are numerous attempts by the spiritual adversary to corrupt our DNA. The way we are able to separate the unclean from the clean is through baptism, and there is a historical concept that provides a deeper answer to it.

So here are my insights on the importance of baptism:

Why is baptism part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? I have my own personal insights on the subject.

When Adam and Eve fell, their seed, Cain; was born. Cain became the father of the wicked.

Eve was first given the seed of the serpent; and the seed of the serpent bore fruit when Cain was tempted and acted to commit murder.

This seed is real genetic material. God allows the bad genetic material to continue with the good; in order to perserve the good. (This is the story of the wheat and the tares).

Eve's seed was the seed of Satan, the serpent. This means the seed of Eve was no longer that of her husband, Adam. Adam's seed or DNA will be replenished by the power of Jesus Christ. And Eve's seed or DNA will be replenished by the power of Baptism.

Baptism is the law of adoption; where that which is the seed of the human body is washed and the good seed is redeemed and adopted back into the family of Father Adam, and the contamination of the bad seed is washed away.

Even the serpent's seed can be saved by the gospel of Jesus Christ; wherein the serpent's seed is baptised.

When Sarah was not strong enough to have faith in Jesus Christ, she had her handmade Hagar have a son through her husband Abraham. Abraham is a type of Adam. Isaac is a type of the good seed. Ishmael is a type of the redeemed seed. Because of Sarah's weakness; and her lack of faith; another child was born to her husband that was not her own. But through the administration of baptism; Ishmael also becomes a son of Abraham and Sarah. He will be given the inheritance of both Father Abraham and Mother Sarah.

This is because through Abraham and Sarah; all of the inheritance contained in the DNA is provided. Remember that our blessings come from our DNA. So when Sarah lacked faith, her posterity is redeemed when her surrogate son becomes her adopted son, inheriting her blessing as a mother and Abraham's blessing as his father.

Hagar gets to see her offspring baptised into the covenant of God; Just like Bathsheba saw her son Solomon become the King of Israel; even though Bathseba's children would not have normally become the birthright royal seed of Israel.

So here we see the power of baptism in the story of Adam and Eve and their son Cain, Sarah and Abraham and their son Ishmael that was born of Hagar, and Bathsheba and David and their son Solomon.

In the case of Bathsheba, her son was given royal lineage through the redemptive and adoptive process of marriage to David after the sin of adultery was washed away.

In the case of Hagar, her son Ishmael will be given the lineage of the royal priesthood and covenant of God when his seed is baptised and converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the case of Eve, her seed which was the seed of Lucifer will be redeemed through baptism and the repentance of the seed of Lucifer. This repentance and conversion to do good and follow the laws of God allows the seed of Lucifer to be adopted into the seed of Father Adam and Jesus Christ.

Therefore, Baptism is the process of adoption where that which is good is cleansed from that which is bad for purposes of redemption of the human race from that which has been corrupted, and baptism into the family of Father Adam and the family of Heavenly God.

3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

Nicodemus was of the most studied of Rabi's. Indeed considered a master of Israel. Yet he did not know these things that Jesus spoke of. And he could not comprehend what Jesus told him. But, you can? I am truly sorry and I don't mean to offend. However, this is a ! moment.

If I say that water is associated with matter i.e. flesh and that fire is associated with spirit and having a heavenly body, would you agree. These precepts are as mirrored as can be. As above so below. Now let's examine what Jesus told Nicodemus.

3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and (born) of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

And then Jesus clarifies further.

3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

This can be clarified further.

That which is born of the water, matter is flesh. And that which is born of the fire, Spirit is spirit.

What Jesus was telling Nicodemus is that it is not enough to be born into this world to enter the kingdom of God one must also be born into the kingdom of God. One must be born of the Spirit and receive a body of spirit.

The true baptism by water is being born into this world.
The true baptism by fire is being born into the kingdom of God.

3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

The ritual of baptism we perform is symbolic only. We affirm that we accept our lives in this world for the purpose that they were intended.

3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

John is referring to the baptism of fire. John knew that the Christ will indwell Jesus. And John knew that he could never enter the kingdom of God without the baptism of fire from Christ.

3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

Jesus was from above. He already had an immortal body in his Father's house. Jesus did not need to be born into this world to enter into the kingdom of God. But to fulfil all righteousness he did need to be born into this world. Not for himself but for us! He came into this world to suffer for us!

3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

By undergoing the ritual baptism by being immersed in the Jordan Jesus affirmed that he accepted his mission to fulfil all righteousness. Only after he accepted his mission did the Son descend upon Jesus and indwelt him.

It is a little different for us but not much different.

22:9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
22:10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.

The Title God has a very specific meaning. God gives life. Is God the God of a stone. God can make and destroy a stone but a stone can never pray to its maker. God is our God because he gave us life. And the life he gave us is the life of water. We hope that he will also give us the life of fire!
