Ad huominen gets used wrong a lot. I agree it's a rule but it needs to be used correctly.

Rules test

I noticed something odd, strange or weird the other day. And you can observe it here. It being the absence of the thread topic appearing at the top of each post. It doesn’t happen here, but that’s unusual.

Today let’s explore what’s going on a bit more. 🦉

https://ldsfreedomforum.com/viewtopic.p ... 9#p1353619
There is a link to a reply to me FF post.

If only there were some recent real world examples I could point out to them to help them understand better...
Michael Sherwin invited a 7.3 magnitude earthquake.

How did that turn out. :?:
And that was my FF post, where I blanked out the title text field. The little arrow won’t link properly, but the reply link will. Maybe now is a good time to explain why I often say me rather than my. My means ownership such as something you bought. The Brit’s and that ilk tend to understand things that way, but we Americans see things differently.

Anyways, my FF reply will link to me bog post, when I follow up as High Spy, prolly in Truth is Stranger than Fiction category. Which brings up another future rules type topic too.

Edit: The title test block was present, so I entered “Rules test”, and it vanished. :?

There’s a link from my list of user posts, which I’ll use as part of my backup note.

God freed up some time for me this week. I want to do a test run of latest update and then backup and update slogbog.com to latest phpbb version and see if that fixes some of the glitches. But at least we will be the latest version which is usually best thing.

That's cool, but it may be a setting, rather than a bug. It makes for a cleaner look, and if someone searches for a post it's easy to get the link for those rare posters that know what to do with it. It's a good way to link backup posts that are copied to the notepad app or other text editor. Probably allow someone to use more than one user name. Maybe they must disclose them to mods somehow. Not sure how that would work. Now there are 19 posts per page, rather than 10, and a maximum word count of 3857 per post. Suggestions are welcome about those settings as well as ideas and bug reports.

Yeah it could be a setting but given we intend to update anyway no harm in trying once tests done.

Kinda like a fresh start to build from and work out bugs.

I agree be kind, respectful, behave to have spirit with you ~ things I noticed in self/and others
  • Watch self for snide remarks
  • Watch self for ill intent
  • Watch self for deceit
  • Be open to change our beliefs
  • Do not try to impose our beliefs on others
  • Watch for hard headedness/unyielding - closed off from growth
  • Watch not to belittle with a smile ~ sarcasm
  • Be introspective
  • Watch for you shadow being displayed
Remember we don't have all truth and there isn't more to be revealed

More a suggestion than a rule, is to adjust the amount of quoted text when replying.

This is to save tedious scrolling through repetitive information.

When the quote is from a previous page it makes sense to bring a bigger chunk of information forward.

Especially one liners that are the last post in a thread, then only need quote the one line.

Consider who will be notified by your post too.

Very cool your creating an example list. 8-)

Think about using keywords as I just did in mentioning Enoch’s list.

Also use full user names, searchable abbreviations or CamelCase.

TheWickerMan & HighSpy are examples of camel case.

Did someone throw a dart at a chart listing all regional banks, and it landed in the middle of the S’s?
Are the banking elves having a pub party?
Si.
And go it did, beginning as per search.php?keywords=March8

Me post rate is 2.01 effectively holding my tongue until it drops back to 2.00 as per UPRD.

Two cents, but not penny candy. 🐳

My join time was 5:55am, so the fact that it dropped at least several minutes after that was unexpected.

Observing the change clues me in it’s not based on whole days.

Which is weird, because newbies often start out with 1.00 or 2.00 posts per day showing on their profile. Oh well. https://ldsfreedomforum.com/search.php?keywords=000002 will find related bog posts too with huge text. March8 is when the SVB debacle began.❗️
Thar be me Two Cents.
